Acting President Marisa Kelly named full-time president of Suffolk University
The Suffolk University Board of Trustees has officially elected Acting President Marisa Kelly to be the new university president.
In an email sent out to the entire Suffolk community just before 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, the Board of Trustees thanked the Presidential Search Committee, staff members, and students, for their input, knowledge, and patience in this process. Kelly, who has been Acting President of Suffolk for just over 20 months, is the university’s 11th president, and their 6th in 6 years.
Bob Lamb, Chair of the Board of Trustees, called Kelly a “passionate advocate for this great University and the difference it makes in the lives of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni.” Prior to this appointment, Kelly was an Academic Provost at Suffolk since 2014, as well as a provost at Ithaca College in New York, and a dean and McQuinn Distinguished Chair of the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of St. Thomas. Lamb concluded the press release by assuring that he has “no doubt that with President Marisa Kelly leading this vital University, Suffolk will succeed in delivering on its promises to future generations of students.”
