Hugh Jackman And Zac Efron Put On The Greatest Show In The Greatest Showman

Are you looking for a movie for the holidays to see with the family? Well, look no further, The Greatest Showman is the movie for you to see. The Greatest Showman tells the story of an American showman named P.T. Barnum, (Hugh Jackman), who grew up living in poverty but does everything he can to get the girl of his dreams, Charity Barnum, (Michelle Williams). Growing up in a rough life, Barnum wants to make it so that his family doesn’t have to live in poverty like he did. Barnum succeeds by starting a circus, known as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Barnum rounds up a group of talented and diverse individuals that had nothing and were disowned by their parents because of the way they looked. Barnum finds an acrobat and trapeze artist, Anne Wheeler, (Zendaya), Anne’s brother and acrobat, W.D. Wheeler, (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), a bearded lady who can sing anything she wants perfectly, Lettie Lutz, (Keale Settle), and a dwarf performer, Charles Stratton, (Sam Humphrey). This is only a few examples of the people he found for his circus. P.T. Barnum went on to create one of the most successful circus acts that has ever been.

The movie shows what success can do to people who have an egotistical type of mind. Barnum wanted nothing but his family to be happy with their lives, but he became so blinded by success that he forgot where he came from. Barnum went to tour with a famous Opera singer, Jenny Lind, (Rebecca Ferguson). He became so blinded by all of the success, that he forgot about his family and circus family back home. His new business partner, Phillip Carlyle, (Zac Efron), helps him realize that success is not everything. It’s about who your friends and family are, and the enjoyment that you get from doing what you do.

This movie has many great messages. The overall message behind the movie is to not live in doubt, just because of who you are or what you look like. Use every skill you have to your advantage and succeed and be happy. It also shows you that not everything is about success. We see this in Zac Efron’s character, Phillip Carlyle, who has everything, but decides to go with the circus because he loves it there. It is a fantastic, show-stopping movie for you and the family to see this holiday season.

The Greatest Showman opens in theaters on December 20th.
