AMC Reveals Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead Crossover Character
After leaving Walking Dead viewers with a crazy cliff hanger, the after show, The Talking Dead finally revealed the character that will crossover to either Fear the Walking Dead or The Walking Dead.
That character is… MORGAN! Yes, Lennie James who plays the broom-stick wielding badass surprised viewers via Skype with the news. James revealed that he is crossing over to Fear the Walking Dead and started filming the fourth season of Fear this past Monday.
James was quick to reassure fans that he will be in the season 8 finale of The Walking Dead saying, “I only just finished shooting (The Walking Dead) a week ago in Atlanta.” But what does this mean for Morgan’s future on The Walking Dead? Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, was in The Talking Dead studio when Lennie was on Skype and said, “I thought I was all cried out on the last day of set.” Does this mean we won’t see Morgan with Rick and the gang anymore?
No need to “fear,” Scott M. Gimple—Executive Producer of both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead confirmed, “Even though Morgan will be featured on Fear the Walking Dead, he has a lot of story left on The Walking Dead.” He then went on to remind viewers that there is whole other half of season 8 of The Walking Dead and it will position Morgan for his story arc on Fear the Walking Dead.
With that said, we have some unanswered questions and unconfirmed theories about the plot line for the crossover:
- In what time period will the crossover take place? This is a valid question because Fear and The Walking Dead are set at different points in the zombie apocalypse, so that means the crossover could take place at any time.
- Will Fear do a time jump and catch up with The Walking Dead?
- Or will it be a flashback of Morgan when he was not seen on The Walking Dead between season 2-5? And if so, will it somehow connect in the season 8 finale of The Walking Dead?
Season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead ends with a chance for anything to happen in season four, so it will be exciting to see how Morgan will fit into the mix. There is no confirmed premiere date for the fourth season of Fear the Walking Dead but, the show is rumored to return in either the Spring or Summer of 2018 on AMC.
