We are currently on the third Spider-Man movie in the series and you may have noticed that each Spider-Man gets younger and younger. The first Spider-Man was played by Tobey Maguire, the second Spider-Man by Andrew Garfield, and the third new and improved web shooting Spider-Man by Tom Holland. Holland portrays Spider-Man perfectly, with his petite but fit body and his nerdy personality. He fits the Spider-Man persona perfectly.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is quite different from the first two movies in the series, though, not in a bad way. The first Spider-Man series had a very dark tone to it. Even the scene coloring in the movie seemed darker. The second Spider-Man series was a little brighter in tone and color, while the new and current Spider-Man in the series has a very light tone and the coloring is very bright and saturated.
Spider-Man: Homecoming begins by showing us what the battle scene looked like from Spider-Mans point of view. Spider-Man shows us his vlogging skills in the beginning of the film during the battle scene in the movie, Captain America Civil War. Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., also stars in the film in a role as a mentor for Spider-Man. Downey guides Spiderman helping him to make the right choices. Spider-Man is welcomed by Iron Man or Tony Stark into the Avengers; however, Spider-Man waits and waits… and waits for a call for his first mission, but nothing ever happens. Spider-Man decides to start helping out the city on his own, protecting it from evil. Of course he runs into one extremely dangerous villain who tries to use weapons that were from the aliens of the first Avengers movie. Now it is Spider-man’s mission to stop him from harming the world.
Though the movie is full of action and comedic lines here and there, the movie does show us inspiring messages. We see that you don’t have to have a fancy suit to be a hero. You can just use your brains and strength to help anyone in need. Spider-Man: Homecoming is full of action, comedy and a hint of love as well. Unlike the two previous movies in the series, this movie doesn’t focus on the famous love relationship between Peter Parker and Mary Jane, as shown the first movie franchise of Spider-Man or Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy as shown in the second movie franchise of Spider-Man. The movie hints at a possible romance between Peter Parker and Michelle, played by Zendaya, or perhaps between Peter Parker and Liz Allan, portrayed by Laura Harrier. Even though Spider-Man: Homecoming may feel different from the first two in the series, it introduces Spider-Man in a fresh exciting way that places him in the Marvel world very nicely. Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters July 7th 2017.
