Kiss108 Jingle Ball
Every year iHeart Radio invites well known accomplished celebrity musicians to perform in multiple cities. One of those cities is Boston, this star studded concert is called Kiss108 Jingle Ball, which happens every December. This year it was held on December 11th 2016. The star studded line up included Daya, Alessia Cara, Tove Lo, Diplo, DNCE, Ellie Goulding, Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan and Ariana Grande.
Daya kicked off the star studded show with her chart topper “Still Look Pretty.” She also performed her Grammy nominated song, which includes The Chainsmokers, “Don’t Let Me Down.” I had the privilege to interview her backstage on the red carpet where she told me that the moment she found out the song was nominated for a Grammy was the most memorable moment of the year for her. Daya said “I just got nominated for a Grammy with The Chainsmokers, so that was a crazy crazy thing that I was not expecting at all. I think that the best show that I had this year was definitely at the White House in April, I played for the Easter Egg Roll, which was so amazing.” Following her performance was Ariana Grande who is a chart topper slayer, performing her hit songs “Side to Side,” “Into You,” and “Dangerous Woman.” Tove Lo performed as well, performing her songs “Talking Body,” “Cool Girl,” and “Habits.” Tove Lo’s most memorable moment of the year was her birthday, and it was not your average birthday at all, “For me was the night that I premiered my short film, Fairy Dust, released my album “Ladywood,” and had my birthday party all in one night. It was October 28th and my brother was there, some of my best friends from Sweden and all of the people that I worked with on this, the best teams, there were about 500 people at this carnival rave and we danced all night, and it was one of those moments where you’re just like wow I am lucky to have all of these incredible people all in my life.” Alessia Cara also performed her hit song “Scars.” Alessia Cara’s most memorable moment this year was touring with Coldplay at sold out stadiums around the world as well as being nominated for Juno, which is similar to the Grammy’s just in Canada. Niall Horan made a guest appearance to perform his song “This Town.”
The three best performances were DNCE, Ellie Goulding and Shawn Mendes. DNCE rocked the show with their hits “Cake by the Ocean,” and they also covered the Spice Girl’s hit song “Wannabe.” Joe Jonas told me in an interview that their most memorable moment was “for all of us was winning the VMA for best new artist this year was really special and being able to look at that every morning and check that little statue out and for us we are thrilled to have such a growing career and tour the world.” Joe Jonas also told me that the band will be performing at the Times Square special in NYC. “This year we will be playing Times Square, we’ll go out having a blast with it, probably having a few too many warm hot totties, but it’s going to be fun.” Ellie Goulding performed her hit songs “Burn,” which was literally lit as well as her Fifty Shades of Grey song “Love Me Like You Do.” To end the star studded show was Shawn Mendes. Mendes told me in an interview what his most memorable moment this year was, “Madison Square Garden was truly incredible, that was a very memorable one.” Mendes performed his hit breakup songs “Stitches,” “Mercy,” and “Treat You Better.”
The night was full of amazing performances, it will be hard to beat a concert like this one for sure. The people in the crowd were celebrating the start of their holiday season the right way by attending the Kiss108 Jingle Ball.
