Rams recap: Men’s hockey team winning on the ice and in the snow
If you’re a hockey player, it’s fair to say you are a tough person. Whether it’s getting physical on the ice or in the middle of a snow storm.
The Rams hockey team got a taste of both Saturday night, when their bus got stuck in Newport, Rhode Island, just hours after defeating conference rival Salve Regina, 3-2.

As first reported by MyFoxBoston, the team bus got stuck in Rhode Island’s seven inches of snow en route back to Boston. Instead of waiting for help or calling it quits, the team got out and started pushing and ended up freeing the bus.
“As you know, one person can’t push a bus,” senior goaltender Brandon Smolarek said. “One person on the Rams’ hockey team couldn’t, just as a hockey game. Takes a full squad to get the goal achieved.
“In this case it was getting home. Go Rams.”
The Rams improved to 11-4-2 overall and 6-1-2 in the conference.
Smolarek stopped 34 shots as Suffolk scored three unanswered goals for the come from behind victory to extend their winning steak to three.
Mike Cherpak scored the first goal for Suffolk and Nick Mosher later tied it in the third. Luke Miller scored the game winner at 5:52.
