As the weather heats up, we instinctively shed our layers for spring clothes, and bear our toes in any number of different sandal trends. But this year, don’t forget what your Momma told you, it’s what’s on the INSIDE that counts…or in this case, what’s underneath!
This spring remember don’t forget what’s underneath it all and remember as your outer wardrobe adjusts to the new season your underpinnings should as well! Invest in some lightweight bras or bralettes and frilly brief or boy short underwear to pair with floaty summer dresses, skirts and blouses.
A bralette is technically a lightweight lace bra without an underwire, however an underwire often provides much needed support especially if you’re larger chested. Look for not only lightweight bralettes but unlined, lightweight underwire bras with delicate straps or breathable materials.
Do not fear the unlined bra, as it is often a divergence from the usual padded or push-up t-shirt style bras generally assumed to flatter. A properly fitted unlined bra (do not be afraid to get measured!) creates a natural look perfected suited to romantic spring blouses and dresses.
Look for colors that you know will pair well with your summer wardrobe so you can show off the straps or back under light dresses and blouses.
Pastels are always befitting for steamy summer weather, but also try more fruit hued lingerie. Oranges, succulent pink red, and yellows, and even lime greens all make for fun and flirty summer lingerie that will keep you cool while you look hot.
Instead of reaching for your barely there thong, try a light weight opaque lace brief or sleek boyshort panty in a matching hue to your bra. They are just as comfortable and provide added coverage when sitting on sticky green-line seats. Plus they prevent you from giving a free show on those windy days on the hill!
