Boston Sports Blogapalooza 2013
Joe Gill of Boston Sports Then and Now isn’t a mathematician, but he has created a perfect equation: Boston sports + social media = Boston sports Blogapalooza!
On May 2, 2010, the inaugural event was held at the Baseball Tavern, attracting over 80 bloggers, journalists, TV personalities and fans who came together to discuss anything and everything about Boston sports. Due to the success of the event and great feedback from those in attendance, three more Blogapapalooza’s were hosted.
And now it’s time for Round 5.
On Saturday April 6, Blogapalooza Spring 2013 will be held at the Harp, which is located on Causeway street across from the TD Garden.
So what exactly is Blogapalooza?
Besides being an opportunity to talk about Boston sports with media members, bloggers and fans, the main focus of the event is networking. With attendees from all over New England, this could be an opportunity for young, aspiring journalists to make connections with those already working in the field.
“This event is probably one of my favorite things to attend,” said Kisha Tapangan of Necessary Roughness with Kisha. “Thanks to the hard work and diligence of Mr. Joe Gill, this event has transformed from a small networking event in May to THE sports blogging event of the New England area.”
The schedule for this year’s event is as follows:
2 p.m – 3 p.m.: Registration
3 pm. – 5:30 p.m: Networking (events not specified)
5:30 p.m – 6 p.m.: Raffle drawing and closing
Since its origin, Blogapalooza’s attendance has increased every time so expect nothing different this year. Click here for more information about the event.
This is a 21+ event, so if you’re of age and interested in the Boston sports scene, I highly suggest you RSVP now!
And for fans of the black and gold who want to stick around after, Boston Sports Then and Now, Days of Y’Orr and Bruins Daily will be hosting a free Bruins viewing party at the Harp from 6-11 p.m. to watch the B’s take on the rival Montreal Canadiens.
