No Character Is Safe
Winter is coming… unless of course you live in New England. In that case, spring is just around the corner. When spring comes, the Season Three premiere of Game of Thrones will be here. On March 31st at 9 P.M., viewers will get to enter the world of all their favorite characters once again.
The much-anticipated 3rd season promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Many new characters will be introduced such as the King Beyond the Wall, Mance Rayder, Jojen and Meera Reed, and the Queen of Thorns, also known as Lady Olenna Tyrell.
Season Two left many of the characters unsure about their journey ahead. Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie finally escaped Harrenhal, thanks to the help of Jaquen H’ghar. Sansa is no longer promised to Joffrey, instead he plans to take Margery Tyrell’s hand in marriage. Robb Stark married Talisa, breaking his promise to Lord Frey. Bran, Rickon, Osha, and Hodor escaped Winterfell after Theon’s downfall.
Daenerys killed Pyatt Pree in the House of the Undying, rescued her stolen dragons, and entombs Xaro Xhoan Daxos after ransacking his home. Jon Snow killed Qhorin Halfhand, and plans to convince the Wildlings that he is a traitor of the Night’s Watch.
Lastly, Season Two ended with Sam Tarly, and a group of Night’s Watchmen fleeing when they heard the horn sound three times. That could only mean that the White Walkers were spotted. Sam falls behind, and hides himself. What he sees, much to his dismay is an army of White Walkers.
The 3rd season of Game of Thrones will only cover half of the third book. However, that does not mean there will not be much to anticipate. For those fans that have read the books, the much-awaited Red Wedding will happen this season. For those fans that have not read the books, just know that no character is safe.
